Embracing The Shaking

Embracing the Shaking
Forget the original title, my Dad (the ever-quotable Ken Gilliam) had a moment of genius and suggested a rockin' Jerry Lee Lewis tribute: 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On.'

The tremors are everywhere…in the sprawling megachurches, the fractured political landscape, the whirring of our own computers…and let's not forget the cracks appearing in our personal lives.
Are you facing challenges that leave you feeling shaken? You're not alone. The Bible tells us that God uses shaking to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Him. Here are 3 key points to find hope in the midst of life's storms:

Shaking Reveals What Matters Most:
The Bible (Hebrews 12:26-28) compares shaking to a filter. It removes temporary things, leaving only what's truly lasting. This helps us focus on our faith and God's unshakeable kingdom.

Shaking Brings God's Presence: Acts 4:31 describes the early church experiencing a shaking that filled them with the Holy Spirit. Shaking can be a sign of God's presence and power, equipping us to face challenges with boldness.

Shaking Leads to Deeper Joy: The Bible (James 1:2-4) encourages us to see trials as opportunities for growth. They refine our faith and build perseverance, ultimately leading to a deeper joy and trust in God.

Conclusion: Don't be afraid of life's shakings. They are opportunities to strengthen your faith, experience God's presence, and find true joy. Embrace the shaking and let it draw you closer to Him. Psalm 50:15 and call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me.”
