In November 2016 at our monthly prayer meeting, the Lord lead me to read a story in the old testament about the 4 men with leprosy that were forced to make a tough decision. The choice they had to make was to stay where they were and die or to move forward into enemy territory and face the consequences, including the possibility of execution.
The 4 men made the choice to move forward, God scattered the enemy, and they were nowhere to be found. The 4 men then took whatever they wanted, food, gold, silver, clothes, etc. When their pockets and stomachs were filled they knew they had to go back and tell the rest of the people in their city. It is a very interesting story and I encourage you to read it in 2 Kings Chapter 7.
As I read the story the Lord spoke to my heart and said, anything you want is available to you in prayer. Just like the 4 men I could choose to go into the enemy's camp and take whatever I wanted. I was very encouraged by this and prayed about all kinds of things.
In January 2017, the Lord spoke to my heart again and said, Stop praying such small prayers. I began to think about what would be the biggest prayer that I could pray. The biggest thing that I could come up with was to be able to see things from God's perspective in another word, wisdom.
I have been asking for wisdom and believing God hears me when I pray. The Bible says in James 1:5New International Version (NIV)5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Since January God has been blessing me with all kinds of good stuff. In the next post, I will share with you 3 reasons why I was not able to keep my weight down in the past and how I will be able to keep it off from now on. Please subscribe and share this blog with someone that you think might benefit from it.
Debra is also going to share a new song on this blog every month and you do not want to miss out on that. Please let us know how we can pray for you and keep us posted on what God is doing in your life.
